New Finance VP at Haldex Hydraulics in UK

09 February 2010

David Bessant (38) has been appointed Vice President - Finance at the UK corporate office of Haldex Hydraulic Systems Division, which manufactures oil, fuel and water pumps as well as hydraulic pumps and systems for trucks and industrial vehicles.

David joins Haldex from Wagon Plc, a major Tier 1 automotive supplier, where he was Group Financial Controller, managing the finance team at corporate and business group level as well as a shared service finance team based in France. Before that he fulfilled a similar role, both internal and outward-facing at another significant automotive supplier, TMD Friction, where his responsibilities also included working full-time in Germany.

A graduate of Warwick University with a BSc in Accountancy and Financial Analysis, David trained with KPMG, obtaining ACA status in 1995. In the last four of his eleven years with KPMG, he was a senior manager in the audit and advisory practice, servicing a wide range of clients, mainly industrial but also including Birmingham City Council. This role gave David extensive experience working with companies that were in transition, either through a recent MBO, LSE listing or delisting.

Part of Haldex, the Swedish-based international automotive group, the Haldex Hydraulic Systems Division offers a broad range of hydraulic pumps, power systems, oil, fuel and water pumps for diesel engines as well as advanced technologies for improving emissions and fuel economy. The division's principal markets are in trucks, industrial and off-road vehicles and there are manufacturing plants in the UK, Germany, Sweden, China and India, as well as the USA.
